Privacy policy
This policy covers the game Ultimate Disc Unleashed (in your browser, on Windows and on Android) and this website, discunleashed.bindaasgames.com. Both are made by Frame Zero. If you have a question, write to support@bindaasgames.com.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email, contacts or location.
- The game has no ads and no in-app purchases.
- Your settings stay on your device. Your progress is also saved on our server, under a random sync code, so that you can play on more than one device.
- Usage data is off until you say Yes. You can turn it off at any time.
- The web game sends a short anonymous note of how far each page load got, and your Yes or No to usage data, with no ID that follows you.
- If you use Send feedback, we receive what you type.
- This website uses no cookies, no trackers and no outside scripts or fonts.
What stays on your device
The game keeps your settings (camera, sound, controls and so on) on your device only (in the browser's storage on the web). We do not receive them. It keeps your progress on your device too: your training and drill scores, whether you have played ultimate before, your Cup and Career progress and your team name. A copy of that progress goes to our server, as the next section says. To delete the data on your device, uninstall the app, or clear this site's data in your browser.
Cloud save and sync code
The first time you start the game, it asks if you play on more than one device. The game then makes a random sync code of 12 characters for you, or you enter the code of your other device. With a sync code, the game saves your progress on our server. Another device that has the code shows the same progress. The game saves it when it starts, after a match and after a purchase.
- What we store: your XP and level, your discs, the jerseys and discs you own and wear, your Cup progress, your daily challenges, your training and drill scores, whether you said you have played ultimate before, your team name, and a random ID of each device that you use (not your name, and not an account).
- What we do not store: your settings, your player name, your email, your contacts or your location.
- The code works like a password. A person who has your code can read and change your progress, so keep it private. Settings → Reset code makes a new code and deletes the old one on our server.
- The server sees your IP address in each request. It uses it only to limit abuse, and it keeps it in memory only for a short time. It does not write it to a file.
- We keep a cloud save until you reset your code, or until the save is not used for 24 months. To delete a save sooner, write to us with your code.
- We do not use the cloud saves for advertising, and we do not sell them. We keep a backup copy of the saves for 14 days.
Online play
When you make or join a room, the game connects to our room server. The server passes game messages between the players in the room: the player name you type, the room code, and the moves of the game. It sees your IP address, because every connection on the internet does. The server uses the IP address only to limit abuse (for example, too many tries to guess a room code). It keeps this in memory only while it is needed, and it does not write the names, messages or IP addresses to a file. When a room closes, its data is gone.
Other players in your room see the player name you type. Do not use your full name if you do not want them to see it.
Usage data (optional)
The first time you start the game, it asks "Help make the game better?". If you choose No, the game sends no usage data (only your answer, as the next section says). If you choose Yes, the game can send anonymous usage data to help us fix bugs and improve the game:
- App activity: the screens and drills you play, match results and scores, the throws you make and their results, and the settings you change.
- App performance: error reports and crash logs, the app version, and the device type.
- A random ID that the game makes for your install of the app, and a random ID of each time you start it. They are not linked to your name or to any account.
This data goes to our own server, which adds the time it arrived. It does not keep your IP address. We use it to see where players get stuck, for example which training step or drill is too hard.
On Android, when the app has them, this data also goes to Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, and in the browser to Google Analytics if the page loads it (today it does not). Google processes it for us under its own terms: see Google's privacy policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising.
To stop it, turn off Settings → Send usage data in the game. The game then sends no more usage data.
Loading the web game, and your answer
Some players give up while the web game loads, before the game can ask about usage data. So that we can see this and make loading faster, the page at discunleashed.bindaasgames.com/play/ sends our server a short note at each step of the load (the page opened, the game started, the stadium is ready, an error, or the page was left). These notes are sent whether or not you say Yes to usage data, and they are anonymous:
- What they hold: the step, the seconds since the page opened, the browser's name (for example Chrome or Safari), whether the screen is a touch screen, the screen's size, the texture pack the page chose, and a short error message if the load failed.
- They carry a random ID of this one page load, so that the steps of one load go together. The browser does not keep it: the next visit has a new one. They carry no install ID.
- When you answer "Help make the game better?" (or change Send usage data), the game sends your answer, Yes or No, with the same page load ID.
The server adds the time a note arrived. It does not keep your IP address.
Send feedback
The game has a Feedback button on its title screen and in the pause menu. When you press Send, our server receives what you typed, the game version, the screen you were on (and the drill or lesson, in a game), whether you play in a browser and with touch, the time it arrived, and your install's random ID, so that we can match it with your usage data if you said Yes. Do not type your name, email or other personal information unless you want us to have it. Feedback is sent whether or not usage data is on, only when you press Send.
This website
The website has no cookies, no analytics and no advertising (the web game's load notes are described above). All of its files, fonts included, come from our own server. Like every web server, ours receives your IP address and your browser type to send you the page. We do not keep logs of the pages you visit.
The download page reads a small file that lists the newest version. It sends nothing about you.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages. It does not ask for personal information, it has no chat, and players only see the player names that others type. If you think a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, write to us and we will delete it.
How long we keep data
- Room data: only while the room is open.
- Cloud saves: until you reset your code, or until the save is not used for 24 months. Backups: 14 days.
- Usage data, the load notes and your answer, and feedback on our server: 13 months, then they are deleted. Usage data at Google, if any: as long as the analytics service keeps it, at most 14 months.
- Emails to support: as long as we need them to answer you, then we delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can play without usage data, delete the data on your device at any time, reset your sync code (which deletes the old cloud save), and ask us to delete any data about you. Depending on where you live, you can also ask to see the data we have about you or to correct it. Write to support@bindaasgames.com. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is important, the game or this website tells you about it.
